Dominica, officially the Commonwealth of Dominica, is an island country in the Caribbean, known as the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean" for its rich rainforests, mountains, and waterfalls. Located in the Windward Islands, its closest neighbours are Guadeloupe to the north and Martinique to the south. The country features a parliamentary republic system of government, with English as the official language, though Dominican Creole is also widely spoken. With a population of around 72,000, its capital and largest city is Roseau.
